Quick Care Summary

• Lighting: Low to moderate lighting
• Flow: Low, indirect flow
• Placement: Lower reef areas or protected rockwork
• Temperament: Generally peaceful but can spread
• Care Level: Beginner to Moderate

Lighting

Use low to moderate lighting. Acclimate gradually, especially when moving it into brighter conditions, and avoid abrupt lighting increases that can limit normal expansion.

Flow

Provide low, indirect flow. Water movement should be gentle enough for the disc to expand normally rather than being pushed or folded by a direct current.

Placement

Place it in lower reef areas or on protected rockwork. Start in a sheltered location and adjust only gradually if its expansion suggests it needs a calmer or more suitable position.

Temperament

Keep reasonable space around it as it settles and spreads. It is generally peaceful, but expansion can bring it into contact with nearby corals over time.

Feeding

Feeding is usually optional. It may accept occasional small foods, but stable conditions and suitable lighting and flow remain the primary care considerations.

General Care

Maintain stable aquarium conditions and observe the disc regularly for normal expansion. This beginner-to-moderate care soft coral benefits from patient acclimation, particularly after changes in lighting, placement, or water movement. Avoid direct flow and sudden environmental shifts.

A sheltered placement and gradual acclimation support reliable mushroom coral care.
