Hellfire Torch Euphylliua Coral - Care Requirements
Hellfire Torch Euphylliua Coral is a Euphyllia torch coral with an LPS care profile. This WYSIWYG torch coral is suited to reef keepers prepared to provide moderate care, stable conditions, and appropriate spacing. Its Euphyllia torch form brings flowing polyp movement to lower or middle areas of a reef aquarium.
This is a WYSIWYG coral, meaning the coral shown in the photo is the exact piece you will receive.
Quick Care Summary
-
Lighting: Moderate lighting
-
Flow: Moderate, indirect and varied flow
-
Placement: Lower to middle reef areas
-
Temperament: Aggressive
-
Care Level: Moderate
Lighting
Provide moderate lighting. Begin with a gentler position during acclimation, then adjust placement gradually while watching for a consistent, comfortable response to the aquarium’s established lighting.
Flow
Use moderate, indirect, varied flow. Water movement should gently carry the polyps rather than blasting them from one direction; avoid strong direct flow.
Placement
Place it in a lower to middle reef area. Give the coral time to acclimate after introduction, and choose a location where its polyps can extend without contacting nearby corals.
Temperament
Allow generous spacing from other corals. Torch corals are aggressive and have stinging potential, so keep neighboring corals well clear and account for polyp extension and water movement when choosing a location.
Feeding
Occasional meaty foods may be offered, but feeding is optional. If feeding, use small portions and observe the coral’s response rather than making heavy feeding a requirement.
General Care
Maintain stable reef conditions, with particular attention to salinity and alkalinity, and avoid sudden changes. Monitor polyp extension, placement, and flow after adjustments. Make changes gradually so the coral can settle into consistent lighting and water movement.
Stable placement, indirect flow, and ample space support long-term torch coral care.
