Buzz lightyear Acropora Coral

Buzz lightyear Acropora Coral - Care Requirements

Buzz lightyear Acropora Coral is an Acropora small-polyp stony coral with advanced-care requirements. This WYSIWYG Acropora is suited to established reef systems prepared for the strong lighting, turbulent circulation, and consistent conditions associated with SPS coral care.

This is a WYSIWYG coral, meaning the coral shown in the photo is the exact piece you will receive.

Quick Care Summary

• Lighting: Strong reef lighting
• Flow: Strong, random and turbulent flow
• Placement: Middle to upper reef areas after acclimation
• Temperament: Generally peaceful but space for growth
• Care Level: Advanced

Lighting

Provide strong reef lighting after a careful acclimation period. Avoid abrupt light changes, and allow the coral time to adjust as it is moved into its final position.

Flow

Provide strong, random, turbulent flow that keeps water moving around the branches. Avoid stagnant areas where detritus can settle or circulation remains inconsistent.

Placement

Place it in the middle to upper reef after acclimation. Secure the frag where it receives strong light and varied flow without being shaded by surrounding growth.

Temperament

Allow room for growth even though this Acropora is generally peaceful. Maintain spacing from neighboring corals so expanding branches have adequate clearance and access to flow.

Feeding

Rely primarily on strong lighting for support. Fine coral foods may be offered optionally, provided feeding does not compromise stable nutrient conditions.

General Care

Maintain highly stable alkalinity, salinity, temperature, nutrients, and lighting. Avoid rapid parameter corrections, monitor the coral's response after adjustments, and make changes gradually in an established reef system.

Best maintained by reef keepers comfortable with advanced SPS stability requirements.
