Palm Coast Astreopora
Care Level for Astreopora
Ease of Care: Moderate. Astreopora are hardy corals but they require stable tank conditions and good water quality to thrive.
Lighting: Moderate to High. These corals are adaptable but do best with moderate to high lighting to meet their photosynthetic needs.
Water Flow: Moderate. A moderate and somewhat turbulent water flow is ideal, which can help in nutrient uptake and removal of waste products.
Water Parameters: Typical marine aquarium conditions are required. Aim for a temperature range of 76°F to 82°F, specific gravity of 1.025-1.026, and a pH of 8.1 to 8.4.
Dietary Needs: Primarily photosynthetic. Astreopora receive most of their nutrients from the zooxanthellae algae within their tissue.
Recommended Foods: Not necessary but can benefit from supplemental feeding of zooplankton or other coral foods.
Feeding Frequency: If choosing to feed, a small amount once a week is sufficient.
