Ease of Care: Easy. Toadstool Leather Corals are very hardy and adaptable, making them an excellent choice for beginners in the reef aquarium hobby.

Lighting: Moderate. They can thrive under a range of lighting conditions, but moderate lighting is typically preferred.

Water Flow: Moderate. A moderate and indirect water flow is ideal to help the coral’s tissue rid itself of mucus and detritus.

Water Parameters: Typical reef conditions apply, with stable temperatures between 75-80°F, pH of 8.1-8.4, and specific gravity of 1.023-1.025.

Dietary Needs: Mainly photosynthetic. These corals have a symbiotic relationship with zooxanthellae algae that provide most of their nutritional needs via photosynthesis. They also absorb nutrients from the water column.

Recommended Foods: Though not necessary, they can benefit from occasional feedings of planktonic and dissolved organic foods.

Feeding Frequency: Direct feeding is generally not required but can be done sparingly, no more than once a week if desired.
